Established on September 9, 1998, the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (Public Organization) also known as GIT is the national institute to support international gem and jewelry industry.

Its mission, apart from R&D, Training and disseminate information, is to provide gem and jewelry testing services and issue reports to assure vendors' credibility and to increase buyers' confidence.

Main Services of GIT includes:

• Gem Testing Center provides gem and jewelry testing and certification services for all type of gemstones.

• Precious Metals Assay and Hallmark Center offers the services in assaying the purity and hallmarking for precious metals with advanced equipment.

• Training Center offers various training course covering all aspects in gem and jewelry conducted by experienced gemologist and specialist.

• Gem and Jewelry Information Center serves as the provider of gem and jewelry marketing information to the industry through seminars and publications as well as GIT's website (infocenter.git.or.th).

• Gem and Jewelry Research and Development Center has its duty to conduct research to serve development of gem and Jewelry industry in full scale, including compilation of research, database for academic services as well as information and disseminate for benefit of overall industry. Our milestones are Color Standard Master Set for Pigeon's Blood Ruby, Royal Blue and Cornflower Blue Sapphire.
